Non seulement l’Irlande et l’Écosse ont-elles fourni à la musique anglaise des tournures rythmiques et mélodiques originales, mais elles comptent au XVIII^e siècle d’importants centres musicaux – Haendel n’a-t-il pas créé son célèbre Messie à Dublin? De nombreux musiciens travaillent dans ces vertes contrées, loin de la capitale. Certains sont Irlandais ou Écossais, et d’autres, notamment des Italiens, y ont élu domicile, comme Francesco Geminiani à Dublin et Francesco Barsanti à Édimbourg. La flûte irlandaise de Chris Norman apportera la couleur indispensable à ce rendez-vous…
